RebelFM have just wrapped up another successful Red Boot Ride for McHappy Day 2020. The ride on 14th November, helped to raise money for Ronald McDonald House Charities around Australia.
Over 30 motorcyclists joined the charity ride from Toowoomba, Stanthorpe, Goondiwindi and Chinchilla. Riders from each departure point met up at Goondiwindi for a McHappy Day lunch, before the final leg to Chinchilla for a McHappy Day dinner.
Some riders stayed overnight before making the journey back home on Sunday, while others did the entire leg in one day.
Ashley Palmero from RebelFM was ecstatic to see the success of the charity awareness ride.
“We had 28 riders registered, but a few extra riders joined in, and that’s what the motorcycling community does,” Mr Palmero said.
“The best part about this is that we could make it happen for Ronald McDonald House Charities, which supports families with seriously ill children.”
Each year, McDonald’s restaurants across Australia host a McHappy Day, with $2 from every Big Mac sold going to Ronald McDonald House Charities.
“I think it’s the perfect way for the motorcycling community to support McHappy Day, by stopping at a McDonalds and ordering a Big Mac,” Mr Palmero said.
The Annual Red Boot Ride, which was created from an original 600 kilometer ride, also had an on-site multi-raffle which saw an extra $388.25 raised for Ronald McDonald House Charities.
“The motorcycling community and this whole concept of the Red Boot Ride is only growing and is only going to get bigger and bigger every year,” Mr Palmero said.
