Trade Tools Mental Health BBQ Activation

Run Dates: October 5 – October 30, 2025

Radio Station: Rebel FM Gold Coast & Rebel FM Logan

Tagline: Trade Tools – Our Everyday Prices Are What The Others Call A Sale!

Campaign Overview

The Trade Tools Mental Health BBQ Activation ran throughout October as part of Mental Health Month, promoting the message of connection, mateship, and open conversation. Supported by Rebel FM Gold Coast and Rebel FM Logan, the campaign travelled across four Trade Tools locations, inviting tradies and locals to grab a free steak sandwich, enjoy great music, and take time to “clear their head.”

A major highlight of this year’s campaign was the outstanding support from JK BBQ & Outdoor, who donated a brand-new Weber Baby Q 1200 as the key giveaway prize. Their contribution added excitement and incentive to participate, encouraging event attendees and listeners alike to get involved through the QR code competition and online entry form.

Each Thursday from 11am – 1pm, the Rebel Barbi-Crew hosted a lunchtime BBQ using Rebel’s brand-new trailer, creating a warm, welcoming space that supported mental health awareness.

Activation Locations:

  • Thursday October 9: Trade Tools Labrador
  • Thursday October 16: Trade Tools Springwood
  • Thursday October 23: Trade Tools Ormeau
  • Thursday October 30: Trade Tools Browns Plains

Every event catered for around 50 steak sandwiches, with crowds gathering to enjoy a meal, a chat, and a shared sense of community.

Summary

The Trade Tools Mental Health BBQ Activation was a powerful community initiative, blending fun, food, and awareness to highlight the importance of looking after mental health.

The generous donation of the Weber Baby Q 1200 from JK BBQ & Outdoor added an extra layer of excitement and helped boost participation both online and at the events. Their involvement played a key role in connecting with listeners and tradies while promoting positive, practical support for mental wellbeing.

Special thanks also go to Trade Tools for hosting the events and The Meat Hub for providing the meat for every BBQ. Together, these partnerships created a campaign that not only fed the crowd but strengthened community spirit across the Gold Coast and Logan regions.
