Trade Tools Mental Health BBQ Activation

Run Dates: October 5 – October 30, 2025

Radio Station: Rebel FM Gold Coast & Rebel FM Logan

Tagline: Trade Tools – Our Everyday Prices Are What The Others Call A Sale!

Campaign Overview

The Trade Tools Mental Health BBQ Activation took place throughout October in support of Mental Health Month, encouraging tradies and locals to take time out, have a chat, and check in on their mates. Supported by Rebel FM Gold Coast and Rebel FM Logan, the campaign combined radio, digital, and community engagement to create meaningful connections and promote mental wellbeing.

Using Rebel’s brand-new BBQ trailer, the Rebel Barbi-Crew hit the road across four Trade Tools locations, serving free steak sandwiches, great music, and relaxed conversation. Each Thursday from 11am to 1pm, the team hosted a lunchtime BBQ to bring people together and highlight the importance of mental health in everyday life.

The activations were held at:

  • October 9: Trade Tools Labrador
  • October 16: Trade Tools Springwood
  • October 23: Trade Tools Ormeau
  • October 30: Trade Tools Browns Plains

Each BBQ catered for approximately 50 steak sandwiches, drawing steady foot traffic from tradies and local customers. The events created a welcoming, community-focused atmosphere that tied in perfectly with Mental Health Month’s message of connection and support.

A big thank you to The Meat Hub, who supplied the delicious meat for all four BBQs, ensuring every attendee enjoyed a fresh, quality steak sandwich.

The campaign aimed to:
